Manufactured exclusively for Knife Center, this remarkable expression of the Spyderco Dragonfly™ features a three-layer laminate blade comprised of a HAP40 core and SUS410 outer layers. HAP40 is a high-speed tool steel produced by the powder metallurgy process—an advanced manufacturing method that reduces the alloy segregation in the steel and ensures an extremely fine, uniform carbide structure. Its sophisticated alloy composition includes generous amounts of tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, and cobalt to give it exceptional toughness and high abrasion resistance—key qualities of a superior blade steel. To provide increased strength and corrosion resistance, this blade's high-performance HAP40 core is flanked by layers of SUS410 martensitic stainless steel. This unique three-layer construction is evident when the full-flat-ground blade is examined closely, as the transition between the core and outer layers is visible just above the cutting Edge.

Equally unique, the handle of this distinctive knife features full stainless steel liners, a stainless steel backspacer, and scales machined from mahogany Pakkawood. Pakkawood combines the durability and stability of a phenolic laminate with the rich beauty of natural wood. All other features of the classic Dragonfly, including a sturdy back lock mechanism and reversible wire pocket clip, are faithfully maintained to make this knife both a fully functional tool and a work of art.
